9/11/01 ~ Always Remember

Tribute-in-Light

I remember.

I remember being in school at Northwest Missouri State University.

I remember sitting on my friend Heather’s couch watching the news unfold.

I remember feeling goosebumps crawl over my skin and an uneasy knot setting into my stomach.

I remember going to class in the Fine Arts building with my fellow classmates and sitting in silence.

I remember our instructor attempting to conduct class as normal in an effort to convince us that we were ok.  Things were ok.

… things weren’t ok.

I remember the footage, the crying, the panic.

I remember the day the world stood still.

I still remember.

I’ll always remember.

It’s now known as the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the 74th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is in the books.

Below are the law enforcement statistics as of 6:00 a.m. Sunday August 10, 2014

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the worlds largest and next year is the 75th Anniversary.  This will undoubtably ensure that attendance will break previous records. There is even a special 75th logo being rolled out for such a legendary event and will be emblazoned on every imaginable piece of merchandise for you to spend some cash.

You can thank Paul Resnick of Hot Leathers who designed the logo for the 75th Anniversary. Hot Leathers is the primary licensee for the Sturgis Motorcycle…

Her Story

March 2013:  Lexxus was diagnosed with Plueropulmonary Blastoma, a very rare form of childhood cancer.  Lexxus underwent surgery to remove a softball size tumor from her left lung and soon started the process of intense chemotherapy, multiple MRI and CT scans for a span of 8 months.

A week after her last round of chemotherapy, the Doctor’s found cancer had spread to her brain.

Following surgery came 25 rounds of radiation for treatment.
