Viva Las Vegas 2015 | Girls Trip!

3 days, 3 nights, 7 girls, countless cocktails and 1 city simply known as

Vegas

Girls trip to Vegas… can you imagine?   Well, we did, we made it happen and now I am going to cram three days worth of photos into one post.

Friday, January 16th.

It was a bright and early start to the day for Kristen, Jess, Tina and I so of course Bloody Mary’s were of utmost importance.  Apparently all Kristen had to do was bat her eyelashes a bit to our fight attendant and the next thing I know we all had double Mary’s.   To say I was feeling mighty fine by the time we landed is an understatement.   And no, those weren’t all mine.

I don’t think.

  Cheers!

First stop:  Planet Hollywood to check-in, kiss Britney, unpack and get lunch while we waited for Cyndi’s flight to get in!

image

Britney’s show was on hiatus while we were out there.  That makes TWICE I have been in Vegas and haven’t seen her.   This is a real life tragedy for this guilty Britney lover.

Moving on… elevator mirror selfies for the WIN!

image

.

Cyndi’s arrival meant it was finally time for Vodka SLUSHIES!

image

.

image

Complete with red tongues!

image

.

We spent the afternoon walking and checking out the sights.  In Vegas, there is never a dull moment.

image

This mirror selfie is clearly well AFTER the vodka slushies.

image

A day of walking and cocktail sipping left us wiped by early evening.  Pathetic, huh? I blame the 9am bloody mary’s, the four shots of vodka in my slushy, the beers and whatever else went down the hatch.   Whew!   Carrie’s flight got in after 9pm so Cyndi and I rallied to walk around and have another cocktail with her.   Bonus: vodka induced shopping for the WIN.  I mean, check out this killer midnight purchase!  🙂

image

Want to know something super crappy about our first day in Vegas?  Tyree was also to fly in by Friday night, but her flight was CANCELLED without notification.   She was at the airport ready to rock n roll before she even found out.  No email, no phone call and no indication that it was going to be cancelled since she had checked in 24 hours prior.   Ridiculous don’t ya say?  Do NOT use Cheapoair.com.   They will screw you right on over.   Thankfully Southwest Airlines was able to book her a Saturday morning flight.

Saturday, January 17th.

The morning started with an early workout and then we took off walking while we waited for Tyree’s flight to make it in.  First stop, Bellagio.

image

.

image

Then on to Caesar’s Forum Shops where Jessica and I ordered the BEST Bloody Mary’s we have ever had.   $20 for this baby, but it was 100% worth it.     Highly recommend. 🙂

image

.

We watched the creepiest statue show I have ever seen before making the hike back to the hotel to meet up Tyree!

image

Jess, me and Tina!

The gang finally together!

image

.

Saturday was hands down one of our best days there.

I don’t think we laughed as much that weekend as we did that day.

.

image

.

We hung out at our hotel bar to watch the end of the Iowa game.

image

.

Gambled and drank.

image

Walked to numerous hotels.

image

Made Cyndi into a MapQuest pin.

image

These four insane girls rode the Roller Coaster at New York, New York.

image

.

I mean, LOOK at that beast.   Hell no.

image

Carrie and her thought process coming alive.   I had too much alcohol in mine.

image

MGM Grand allowed us some couch sitting while the cocktails continued to flow.   It’s vacation.  Don’t judge.   Ok, well… some of us drank far more than others.

Tina played it cool <— smart cookie.   Some of the rest of us… ahem….. 😉 ❤

image

After the MGM we made our way BACK to New York, New York for some Coyote Ugly action!

image

We were the first in line to get in!  Causing trouble everywhere we went…

image

Coyote Ugly was straight up awesome.  Shots, dancing, singing, game playing, photo taking craziness all around.  It was fantastic.

image

Soon we found ourselves making the long walk back to the hotel to call it a night.   I don’t have picture proof, but, trust me when I say, if you go to Vegas with Kristen and you find yourself needing some food, stat, she will just help herself to any passerby’s food.   Straight up hysterical.

Sunday, January 18th.

Breakfast and coffee (bloody mary’s for a few.,. names witheld for judgement… hahaha) followed by the long walk to the Venetian.   Worth the walk to see the Gondolas in the middle of the hotel.

image

Carlo’s Bakery even has their own shop there.   We didn’t care to stand in the 25 minute wait of a line, but I am sure it would have been absolutely worth it!

image

After some shopping we decided to head back to the hotel to drop off our goodies.  Tina apparantly wanted to get in an extra workout for the day by walking down the up moving escalator.  In flip flops of all shoes too.  Funniest moment of the morning, hands down.  If only she would have opened up her shopping bag for tips from the crowd that gathered to watch.

image

Next stop: Fremont Street for the afternoon.

image

.

image

.

Lunch, gambling, cocktails, shopping and more walking.   We didn’t get to see the canopy light display due to us being there during the day, but Fremont street is a must to experience, regardless.

image

.

After Fremont Street we headed back to the Strip to check off our last bucket list items.

Stop 1: Sprinkle’s Cupcakes.

image

.

They have a freaking Cupcake ATM machine.  Yes, yes, I DID get mine from the ATM machine.   We need one of these babies in Omaha.

image

.

Next stop: The High Roller

image

5 of us purchased tickets to the 30 minute giant Ferris wheel.  This thing was MASSIVE.  Normally I am terrified of heights, but this thing moved incredibly slow and seemed so secure that it didn’t really phase me.  Shocking.

Oh, but I did take a Dramamine tablet prior. 😉

image

.

image

.

image

.

After the Ferris Wheel, Jessica & Cyndi split off to attend the Bone Thugs N Harmony concert.  Ya…. That happened.   Tina and Kristen grabbed pizza and headed back to the hotel.  Carrie, Tyree and I went to an outside bar for a few cocktails, then headed to dinner and finished up with a little walking before calling the Vegas trip an official rap at midnight.

image

.

Vegas Girls Trip 2015 was a success.   I had so much fun with each of these girlies.   It was a laid back, casual vacay.   Tyree and I actually served as the only connecting points for everyone.   I knew all the girls really well.  Tyree knew all of them but Tina, who she met briefly a few months back.    Carrie knew everyone but 3.   Cyndi only really knew 2 of us…. etc.    It was really cool to see how everyone got along.

And honestly, it was like we had all been friends for years.

Until next time.

Viva Las Vegas- Part Two

Why is sleeping in impossible on vacation?  It’s vacation.  We are supposed to sleep in right?

I was up at 6AM.

Six…. A…. M….

Internal Alarm Clock is a bitch sometimes.   Or it could have been the Red Bull still going strong in my system and a killer headache I had started to sport.

Aleve, water, a few more hours of dozing in and out of sleep and magic: headache be-gone.

On the agenda: The Forum to shop with my girl, Cyndi.

1080

Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Armani, Gucci, Tiffany and Co. and I all rubbed elbows for the day.

And, after witnessing the shopping styles of the rich and famous, we soothed our egos and slimmer wallets with Fat Tuesday Slushies.

Vodka Red Bull Slushie for Cyndi, Rum and Fruit Punch Slushie for me!

Next up, Cyndi took me through the Bellagio to check out the Botanical Garden.  Truly amazing to see the extensive displays of flowers, plants and scenery.

1099

Each horse was covered entirely with grass, moss and other types of greenery.  No green thumb here, so don’t ask for descriptions beyond a kindergarten level.

1106

On our way out we checked out the Fiori Di Como, a glass sculpture that hangs above the 18 foot ceiling.

1117

On our walk back to meet the men in our lives, we caught a quick look at the Bellagio fountains, Eiffel tower and I had to throw in a pic of Planet Hollywood where my girl Britney is living for the time being.

1124

I am very sad she and I couldn’t match up our schedules this trip.  I’ll catch her next time around. 🙂

1128

Once we caught back with the husbands, we all decided to take a walk to the Harley Davidson Cafe.

1141

1144

The cafe had a conveyor belt that circulated the room.  Pretty cool to see a handful of Harley’s floating above your head.  We decided to stick around the Cafe and sit outside on the patio.  It was GORGEOUS that afternoon and it served as a good meeting point for the rest of the group.

Our bill was impressive!

995

The afternoon soon slipped by and soon we found ourselves in a limo headed to Fremont Street!   While there we ate some great food, listened to decent music, drank a lot, gambled a little and had ourselves a great last night in Vegas!

Fremont Street

Cyndi and Shelli.  End of night and adorable as ever.

999

After Fremont Street we headed back to the hotel and ended our night in varying capacities.

But, a weekend in Vegas wouldn’t be complete without random cots in elevators and someone getting arrested a few doors down from us.

1005

I’d say this was the perfect ending for a Vegas weekend.

Viva Las Vegas- Part One

It only took me 33 years, but Vegas is finally checked off my Bucket List.  Oh what fun we had in the 48 hours that we were there.

Friday the 7th, Clint and I boarded a plane at 6AM for our connecting flight in Denver. We don’t look too shabby for that hour, eh?

974

Omaha is apparently super lame in the direct flight department.  Once we hit our layover in Denver we headed straight to the bar.

It’s Vegas weekend!  Why wouldn’t we get started right away with Bloody Mary’s and Beer?!

968

967

A few cocktails later and we were on a plane to VEGAS!

Our weekend accommodations were at The Flamingo.  This is where we met up with the rest of our crew who had all gotten in on Thursday.   The Flamingo provided us a decent stay.  Nice large room, comfy bed, big bathroom mirrors (every girls needs those).  What more do you need while in Vegas?

1067_edited-1

Pink blankets and curtains.  But of course!

1070

The view from our room.

Once we checked in our group walked over to the New York, New York to hit up some tables and do a little shopping.  All with Vodka Red Bulls, of course.  Those seemed to be the choice of drink for the group over the weekend.  I have a copy of the bill from Saturday to prove it.

I was completely impressed that you can walk anywhere with a drink.  Um, awesome.  And the shopping was over the top fantastic, not only for the shops, but for the scenery as well.  How cool is this interactive ceiling?  Apparently, it thunderstorms at certain hours.  I missed that show, but I can see how much of a head trip this would be with a few too many cocktails.  😉

986

Clint never takes off this HyVee sweatshirt.  I know.

That evening we went to Zumanity.  What I can offer to you regarding the show is to keep an open mind.  It is very explicit in nature, but the athleticism, dedication and artistic expression that these individuals exude was out of this world.  I was truly impressed and entertained.

Zumanity

After Zumanity we split and went different directions.  Some of us gambled, some hit up the bar, some called it a night.  Clint and I took off and walked around the Strip long enough for me to capture a few night pictures.  I wish we had spent more time out and about because there is SO much I didn’t see and my pictures are incredibly disappointing, but shoe choice and sleep deprivation started to catch up with us around 2:30am.

Saturday night adventures include hefty bills and cots in elevators.  Stay tuned!

We are just THAT special, folks.
