Clint and I took off Saturday morning to good ol’ Clarinda.
Dramamine is my sidekick. Always. Worst traveling stomach to ever exist, lives within me. It’s awesome.
Anyway…
With Pirtlefest coming up, Clint wanted to swing down there again to continue helping get things cleaned up for the festivities. Gary and Robin were out of town having a relaxing camping weekend, so it was the perfect time to try and get some things done for them so they wouldn’t have to worry about it.
Task 1: Stack hay bales
.
Task 1.1 – Strike that. Hay bales too wet. “Dad/Gary, now what?”
Task 2: Trim up/cut down hedge along fence line.
… or in my case, watch Clint and take photos.
Task 3: Sort, bag and remove from pole barn all bottles, cans and trash.
It wasn’t a task meant for the prissy. High-five to us for not being afraid of all those pissed off barn critters whose homes we were removing.
Oh hey little barn mice….
Task 3 continued: Clint took charge of re-organizing Gary’s tools/equipment. Tina and I followed directions and moved items/picked up when directed. You see what I did here… Tina and I are smart enough to never move a man’s tools. This is all on Clint.
Task 4: Take a break when Corey arrives.
.
Task 5: Pose with cute wooden mini’s.
Task 6: 4-wheeling for the girls
Ok, so maybe the tasks are turning into non-tasks. Let’s just roll with it, k?
Contrary to my face here, Tina is a nice little driver. I just needed to get over my terror of being the B on the Back. 😉
Task 7: Horse back riding for the boys.
.
This was actually a slight task. It does take work getting those horses saddled up.
.
Task 8: While the boys were out riding, Tina and I ran to town for a few grilling out groceries and then decided on Arts and Crafts time once we returned.
.
Task 9: Take the mini’s to the end of the lane to share with the rest of the world.
We thought it would make a great “Welcome Home” for Gary and Robin. Don’t you?
.
❤
Task 10: Dinner and a few beers over an open fire to close out the night.
