Weekend in Review | June 12-14th

Oh, hey!  Happy Tuesday.   Still dreaming of last weekend over here!

Friday

Happy Hour at DJ’s Dugout in Aksarben Village with the J’s.  Jessica M, Jessica B, Joey D. and me, Jordan P!   It was JOYOUS!

djs

Saturday

Easton Poker Run!  Started off with Tyree, Jen, Regeana, Clint and I.   When we took off, Tyree took the lead, followed by Clint, me, Regeana and Jen.    Clint unknowingly bathed the three of us with oil shortly after our journey began, so he had to check out before our first stop.  No fear : minor fix and he met up with us later.  Just don’t ask Jen how her riding experience was with no windshield during that fiasco.  Oopsie!

Oh and for the record – I have yet to wash my bike.  It’s an engine oil deep conditioning experiment.   Work with me on it.

Heron Bay

Next stop – whatever bar that was.  The middle of nowhere.

image

HAPPY!

image

We ended the day in Waterloo, NE for a few drinks, dinner and to meet back up with Clint.   Tracy and Cole even made it out!  YAY!

And, since my husband is my husband, it wouldn’t be right not to have something ridiculous going on when in his presence.  As he was riding he saw something on the side of the road.  He thought it was one of those leather whip thingamajigs you see some bikers have hanging off their bike, so he turned around to pick it up.

Nope.  Not leather.   Hair.  A dreadlock.   SOMEONE’S freaking hair.

Oy.

image

So, naturally, the girls tied it into his beard.

image

Because why wouldn’t you?!

image

Honestly, only him.  He sure does keep the humor in our day to day lives.   It’s always a trip with him around.

After Waterloo we headed back to Omaha for a nightcap at Office West where Asa was able to meet up with us too.

A perfect ending to a perfect Saturday.

Sunday

A whole lotta movie watching, lounging, laundry, good food eating and not a whole lot else.

🙂

Cheers to a good week.  Tomorrow means we are halfway through ALREADY!

2015 Holstein Harley Davidson Women’s Run

Saturday, May 23rd marked the 2015 Holstein’s Harley All Women’s Run.  Always a fun filled day with a bunch of like minded ladies on two-wheels.

The day always starts with kickstands up at 11am, so around 10:15 I headed down to the garage to load up and head out.

And then…

.

.

Bummer!   Tried calling and texting the hubster and got crickets.   Cue the sad music.  Tyree text in the meantime and said she would come over and hang with me until we found a solution.

At about 10:50 I got an apologetic call from the hubs stating he was on the way!

image

Ha!  Oops!   Totally both our faults on this one since Clint and I both had left the house that morning and neither one even thought twice about the road block.  Duh.

Tyree was there shortly afterwards and we were able to catch up with the crew on 72nd street.

First stop: Crescent, IA.

Third Stop: Avoca, IA

Had my first malfunction with my new bags on the way to Avoca.  Didn’t get latched.  Lid flying wide open.   #dontjudgeme #nocluehowtohandlethesedamnbags #hashtagbecauseican

Girl talk, cuz girls talk.

image

LOOK WHO MADE IT!!!!!

Jenn and Tina met up with us in Avoca.

image

Just love this girl. ❤ Heart of gold.

image

And these two are like long-lost-foul-mouthed-sarcastic sisters.   Hilarious duo right here.  I anticipate the 10th annual B!tch run to be full of shenanigans with these two involved.

image

Tyree, me, Kristen and Tina.  4 of the 7 Vegas girls.

Cyndi, Carrie and Jess… we had a drink on your behalf, I am sure. 😉

Fourth Stop: Oakland, IA

image

Gosh, I love these two.   Kristen and her spit-fire ways and Suze – the calm, mama bear who looks out for us all.   One of the kindest, most tender loving woman I know.   You instantly feel so comfortable and at ease when she is around.   Beautiful soul that girl.  Just beautiful. ❤

Kristen was ready to get the crew back to Holstein’s at the appropriate time, so she bounced a little earlier then a smaller group of us.  This happened when Kristen realized Tina wasn’t going to be making the trip to Omaha with us…

image

Through the fence, no less.

image

image

And then there were 6.

Jenn and Tina took off back to Clarinda while Tyree, myself, Kimi and Liz headed back to Omaha to close out the night at Holstein’s with the rest of the crew.

Sassy group of women right here, huh, Marcy?

Biker B!tch Winter Sucks Party | 2015

8

Oh these girls.

These girls…

The 2015 Winter Sucks Biker B!tch party sure didn’t disappoint.   From shots, to climbing fences and posing seductively with masks to an all night dancing affair… it’s never a dull moment when you hang out long enough with sassy biker chicks such as these.

We started the evening at Joe Banana’s for dinner, drinks and shots.  Who ordered the shots??!!  Aye, yeyey…

.

.

Joe Banana’s filled us full of liqour and good laughs, that I can say!

One should never take themselves too seriously…

Once fully primed we hoofed it to the bar just down the block.  It shall remain unnamed because it SUCKED.   They clearly didn’t want our business nor were they in any sort of hurry to serve us drinks.  One would think they’d be all over a group of women who just happen to be THE ONLY people in the bar.   Good luck keeping your doors open, peeps.   Good luck.

17

Mooooving on!

14

Can’t take these girls anywhere.

ANYWHERE I tell ya.

Oh, wait.  Yes you can.  This is what makes shit fun.   Letting loose and having fun with your girlfriends.   Ahh… winter doesn’t suck so bad.

At this point we hit up three bars.  It might have gotten a little fuzzy for me so I am not certain which bar is which, so I will just post the photos and you can guess.

Who knew you’d be playing a guessing game today on the ol’ H&H page, eh!?

To end the night a group of us went to Chrome Lounge to dance into the wee hours of the morning… and apparently selfies with Liz were of utmost importance.

And Heidi’s hair?   SMASHING, dauling.

10 Year Harley-versary

This fall marked 10 years since I bought my first Harley-Davidson.

10 Years

Harley-Davidson has been in my blood since I was little.   The loyalty to Harley bloomed early on, thanks to my dad.

Live To Ride

Ride To Live

Those words signed every letter written between my dad and I.   Harley-Davidson was the only connecting piece for a period of time.

In some ways, it still is.

Harley’s; the lifestyle, the dream, the freedom.  It goes much deeper for me.  It isn’t about being a woman and “hearing me roar”.   It isn’t about making a statement.

Harley-Davidson is me.

Harley-Davidson is us.

I made a promise to myself that I would buy my first Harley as soon as I graduated with my Bachelors degree.   And I held to that promise.

October, 2004, my first beautiful blue baby came into my world.

image

And my world forever changed.

In that first year of riding, I met some INCREDIBLE people.  Several of these folks remain a very large part of my life to this day, one even a best friend.  My Best Biker B!tch. ❤

I learned a lot about myself that first Harley year.   That open road… I’m telling ya.

It does magical things.

image

I also learned that I looked like a dude with short hair and a do-rag.  Buying my first Harley also meant it was time to grow back out the hair.

I kept my Sporty until 2008, when I traded her in for a bigger, meaner, faster bike.  Why?  Because my Sporty was becoming uncomfortable.   And, because my boyfriend, now husband, had bought a new Chopper and I was immensely jealous of the newness and the attention his bike got.  I wanted a head turner too, darnit.

Enter Harley #2: The Rocker C.

image

She was a beauty.   She was fun to ride in the city.  And she got a lot of head turns with her “floating” back fender.  People were intrigued.  This was a new venture for Harley-Davidson.  It was a risk.   They were following the Chopper trend and attempted to make one of their own.

Just look at the big back tire.   Be still my heart.

rocker1

I loved riding that thing.  It was fun riding around the city.  It hugged the corners on the back roads.  It had some get-up-and-go.   People asked me a lot of questions.

And then we went to Sturgis.

proposal

And Clint proposed.

This has nothing to do with the Rocker C itself, but, I can’t start a post about my love of Harley-Davidson and not include this incredibly precious and important moment in my life.

Clint and I bonded over bikes.  Our friendship began thanks to the two-wheeled lifestyle.  He and I never would have established a relationship, or even met for that matter, if it hadn’t been for two-wheels.   Remember when I said my love of Harley goes so much deeper?

Well, it just keeps getting deeper.

love

Let’s go back to that Rocker now.    After Sturgis?

I HATED it.

Dude.   That ride sucked.  That seat sucked.  That suspension could take a hike.

I was SO OVER IT.

Sorry, baby #2, but you’ve gots-ta-go!

Time to make room for my beautiful, sexy, old-school Baby #3.

My Softail Deluxe.

bikerlarg

I am in love with Baby #3.  She and I are going to have a long relationship.

131

I mean, she married me off, after-all.

I love my two-wheeled babies.  I love the life it has given me.  I love the people I’ve met.  I love everything that is Harley-Davidson.

It isn’t the brand to me.

It IS me.
