Weekend in Review 2 | April 2015

Happy Day to ya!  Are we all feeling mad love for this Monday, or what?   I love it so much, my mind is still thinking about the weekend…

Friday

Got in a little TurboKick practice after work.  There is absolutely nothing more humbling then videoing yourself while working out.   Uh, ya….  🙂  It’s a necessity as I keep perfecting my skills!

Beachbody Master Trainer-in-Training status quo, yo.

Following my afternoon practice sesh, we jumped on the bikes to run a few errands

and ended up at Voodoo Taco in Aksarben for some OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD taco’s.   Holy yummo you guys.  The Baja Shrimp is amazing.   Clint tried the alligator and warns you that it’s HOT!   We also tried the Barbacoa Beef and Smoked Brisket.  All two thumbs up!

After dinner the hubs and I just decided to kick it for the night at home which included a little backyard snuggling with Champ:

And some squirrel shooting for the husband.  Yes, it’s a BB Gun.  Calm yourselves.

I think this photo can sum up Clint’s three favorite things all at once:

Champ never wants anyone to feel left out, so after he was done leaving his wet nasty slobbery kisses on Clint, he came back to me for down time. 😉

And THAT wraps up our crazy and wild Friday evening, y’all!

Saturday

Insanity at 24 Hour Fitness followed by an all day cleaning session at home.  Man, it needed some serious TLC.  Kudos to the hubs for helping clean the basement too.  It was a muddy mess thanks to dogs and boys…. err, one boy.  Clint.

…who likes to still blame messes on Kyle.

…who is in college in another State.

{smh}

Then it was wedding time for my fellow Biker B!tch, Ashley!

I met Ashley a few years ago via my hubby.  She is such a sweet, tender-hearted woman.   I did a Biker Feature on her last fall which you can find here.

Ashley let Clint take home one of her centerpieces which was made from a piston.

Clint helped get those for her so he got to take one home as a souvenir. 😉

And this guy.

Sunday

The Rain!!  Pouring rain and my friend Blair was running her first half-marathon.  No WAY was I going to miss it, so I jumped in my Jeep and made my way to mile marker 5.5 of the Gambler Half to surprise her.  I will never forget my first half-marathon and how I felt seeing my friends and family at that very spot and wanted to do the same for Blair.

She looked GREAT!

Way to go Blair!!!

I stuck around to see her loop back for mile 6.5 and then booked it back home for a quick towel dry (hello soggy dog) before meeting up for an 11am brunch date with  Jenny of Prairie Californian.

I met Jenny via social media about a year ago and through our blogs, Facebook and Instagram we have gotten to know each other.   She carries a strong voice in the Agriculture world, which actually brought her to Omaha for the weekend.   She also has the sweetest love story.  You must visit her blog and read all about it (among all of the other topics she shares her wisdom on).  Jenny is definitely an experienced and professional blogger, so you will get quite a bit more from her then you do me!  ha

Katie also joined in on the fun.  She is a co-founder of Rural Housewives with Jenny.

Both ladies were a JOY to sit and chat with for a few hours.   I had to let them go around 12:30 as they had one more stop to make before embarking on their 6.5 hour drives home.  Katie to OK and Jenny to SD!

I definitely look forward to seeing them again someday!

The rest of our Sunday consisted of computer work.  I started creating my Coach Sneak Peak curriculum and I will be ready to roll that out soon!   Very exciting to finally make some headway on that.  Stay tuned! 🙂

Cheers! ❤

Happy 55th Birthday

Although we have our differences and our father/daughter relationship is anything but ordinary, I love this guy to pieces.

image

He is most definitely a free spirit and does things his own way.

… I can’t fault him for that.

To my crazy, wild and unpredictable father…

image

I wish you a Happy 55th Birthday

If any of you in the Clarinda area see Keith, aka Burrhead, out and about today, wish him a happy day.  He told me he was getting ready to mow the yard when I called him at 7am…

Good thing his neighbor is his dad and he lives in the country.

Weekend in Review 1 | April 2015

Well, this hasn’t been much of a weekend for excitement.  I started coming down with a cold Wednesday, as you all might remember from my stellar Thursday post (<– linked).  Friday it hit pretty hard, but I made it through my entire work day like a champ.  Surprised myself with my productiveness even.

Friday night was another story.   All I can remember is getting home at 3:30, running to the grocery store, making turkey kielbasa with sauerkraut for dinner and then having the great idea to post an old school photo in honor of National Sibling Day.

Hold your horses, folks.

image

Best Facebook comment of the night referred to us looking very Full House-ish.

Yep

8:30pm hit and I was digging through my medicine basket for some NyQuil that I for real jumped for joy after finding.   9pm in bed for some 20/20 and that’s where it went blank until 7am Saturday morning.

NyQuil.  You did the job.  You and I made a great team.

Saturday

I actually taught Insanity at 8:15am.   Complete with coughing, a growly man’s voice and tons of snot.  My class was just as thankful for that visual as you are now.

You should actually feel sorry for them.

coughing

Spelling/Grammar Check:  You’re sick…

Come on eCard making people. Get it together!

I made it through a full 50 minute class, surprisingly!  I had plans to just do 30, but something about the music, the excitement, the nervousness and the energy I get from teaching always gets me through.

I even managed to keep the momentum going after class!  I took a little drive out West to meet with my friend Jeff to check out his new gym (Active 180 for you West O folks)  and THEN had lunch with Claire at Jason’s Deli!

The rest of the day took zero effort as Champ and I watched the boys take apart an old Blazer to make into a convertible.

Champ loved it.  Hilarious.

Boys.

Still felt pretty good going into the early evening hours ( I sounded worse then I felt) so we met up with Tyree and Cole in Bennington, NE for some dinner at The Warehouse.   Cole recently bought a Harley so he had been out testing his new wheels and skills.  For a new rider he was doing AWESOME!

We failed at a photo opp with the four of us, but Clint and I got one in while at the 21st Saloon for a quick nightcap.

Sunday

Holy head cold, earache, headache and exhausted limbs.  Seriously, it’s like my cold went full force today, so I have managed to sit on the couch basically the entire. stinking. day.

What a waste.

Grocery store, couch, morning Food Network shows.

image

.

Couch, Couch, Lunch, Couch, Couch, Couch, Dinner, Couch, Couch….

image

.

Like I said.   Basically a waste.

I did get a little work done when I had an attention span (my attention span is pretty slim on a normal day… add in a day where I am feeling less then stellar and I can’t seem to focus on one thing for more than 20 minutes, max).

See…. I am already on a tangent.

Point. Proven.

Anyway, I am working on making some gym connections as I will officially be offering my first Certification soon.

Ya, you heard that right. 🙂

I can announce I am moving along a little faster in the Beachbody Ambassador program and am already working on getting my first Certification on the books.

Which means I can announce my certifications as being the official….

TRAINER!!!

So incredibly excited!

There is a hierarchy in the Master Trainer world much like any other organization.   I will keep learning, growing and climbing.

That also means a lot of work.  I’ve got quite a few assignments to get done this week along with securing my first host location.

On that note, some have been asking about my half marathon in May.  I had to let that go.  I am going to an Insanity certification that weekend in Des Moines as part of my learning process.   The weekend before I am going to a PiYo certification in Kansas.

A lot to learn.  A lot to do.  Had to say no.  (which is hard for me to do, as you all probably already know)

I’ll go into more detail soon, but until then, let’s all hope that tomorrow I feel decent enough to run my Turbo class and get some video of it. 🙂

With that, I leave you all for a nice warm shower and my bed.

Cheers!

It’s Only 8AM

Yep… it’s only 8am and already I want a do-over.

It started off normal with my 4:25am alarm clock blaring.  Typical morning in Jordan’s world.

And then, just like that, all sense of normalcy went out the window.

mcvodka

Woke up to my head pounding, stuffed up nose and sore throat.  I felt it coming yesterday but I was trying to ignore it.  Pretending it wasn’t so.

Oh, you silly girl… It is SO!

Nothing to do about it but keep on keepin’ on, so I quickly packed my gym bags with work clothes that I didn’t do last night, packed my breakfast and lunch and went on my merry little way.

I should tell you that at 5am this morning here in lovely old Omaha, NE, it was raining.  And not that cute sprinkly misty crap Mother Nature thinks is just adorable this week.

Nope

She decided rain was the way to go this morning all the while my Jeep windshield wiper decided it was the perfect time to break.

WHAT?!

Next thing I know I’ve got a dangling wiper blade and metal scratching my windshield.   Super cool, y’all.

I find myself pulling over to the side of the interstate to try and fix it.

Did I tell you it’s raining?  And I need to be in Council Bluffs for my 5:30am class?

Ya, so, apparently the little latch that holds the stupid blade to the wiper arm broke loose.  Absolutely no way of keeping that sucker on, but couldn’t have the metal scratching across the windshield the entire time.  What the hell is a girl to do?

Rip apart a pair of earbuds to tie it on.

image

Freaking genius!!

Oh wait… Nope.  Nope.  Not so fast.  It didn’t work.

So, I drove the rest of the way to Council Bluffs hunched over, eyes scrunched, looking through a window that is covered in rain trying NOT to turn my wipers on because FOR REAL don’t want a windshield scratched to holy hell.

Get to the YMCA with 30 seconds to spare!   My class was ready to rock and roll while I ran in with soaking wet shoes, drenched hair and a freezing cold body.

Let’s DO this!

Class was great.  More then great, actually.  Had a packed gym, everyone had a great workout.

Time to shower and get ready for the day, right?   Well, friends.  5 out of the 6 outlets in the women’s locker room were NOT WORKING.   And this morning there were an awful lot of us trying to get ready at the same time.   So, I’ve got that stunning wet-curly-crunchy-from-the-gel-no volume-stuck-to-my-forehead- look going on today.

Dead.  Freaking. Sexy.

image

.

Ok.   It’s gotta get better, right?

Ahem.

Leave the Y and head to Walmart, the only place open in Council Bluffs at 7:05am, to try and find a new windshield wiper blade.   Thankfully Mother Nature decided to bring back the sprinkle so seeing wasn’t too big of an issue for that 5 miler.

#winning

WalMart.   I have never really liked you.  It shouldn’t have surprised me that you would fail me once again.

image

Out of ALL of those wipers?  Not a darn one will work for my 2014.   They had ONE $4.00 pair that might have worked, but the directions required measuring, cutting, sacrificing your already on edge mental state, before installation.

Nope.  Not happening.

Next up?   Advanced Auto Parts where I sat in my Jeep doing a little deep breathing while I waited for the doors to open at 7:30.

Good news.  The auto parts guy is a fellow Jeeper who found me new blades and installed them for me.  We chatted Jeeps for a while (he had a cool Rubicon sitting out front) and then I was finally on my way to work.

Which, by the way, I am to be at by 7:30.  It’s 7:45.

Whatever…

I decided to quickly swing through HyVee for a Starbucks.  I wanted something warm and soothing after my morning fiasco.   Why on earth I thought this was a good idea at 7:45am is beyond me.  The line was 12 deep.

Forget it.

Work.  Made it.  Walking in.  Forgot office keys.  Oh goody, let me walk back to my Jeep in the rain again.  I mean, why wouldn’t this be fun?

image.

And since I was late to work, I am parked further out then normal.

You know what that means?   <Lot’s of puddles and now wet socks>   THAT is what it means.

I believe I am just going to bury my head in my hands and shove my Greek Yogurt and soggy granola down my throat now.

image

.

Please don’t enter that door unless you are carrying Vodka.

Cheers!
