Our Harley Davidson Wedding: Part 2

Image

Our wedding took place at Westfair Amphitheater.  This was venue number 2 that was secured less then 3 months prior to our wedding, thanks to our original venue drowning from the crazy Missouri River Flooding.  Talk about last minute stress, but it all worked out.

Clint and I chose to walk each other down the aisle as opposed to me meeting him at the front.   Our lives were already operating as one unit, we had committed to each other long before our wedding date, and it just seemed appropriate to walk down the aisle together.

Image

My younger brother, Gabriel, played guitar for us. We chose the song Beautiful Day by U2 as we all walked down the aisle.  He did such a great job!

Clint had my ring custom made.  All his idea to do a bar and shield.

And how amazing are these cookies?  One of my besties mom made them for me.  She makes the BEST sugar cookies I have ever had.  Ever.  Think Loft House Sugar Cookies, but better.  Her cookies were the one requirement I had for food.

People ate, drank, socialized and as the sun set, our band set up to start the real party.

We hired Lemon Fresh Day and they rocked the reception from start to end.  We partied until well after midnight, others even longer.  I heard some pretty entertaining stories about hotel pool after-hour shenanigans.  🙂

Beer, rock’n’roll, friends, family and a happy couple.  Wedding Day Success.

Taking it back today to 9.10.11~ Our Wedding Day.

In planning our wedding we knew we wanted it to be totally us, no-nonsense, lots of fun, Harley-Davidson centered, full of our favorite people, lots of beer drinking and good rock-n-roll.  I think we pulled it off with flying colors.  It makes my heart happy having people still talking about our wedding day, two years later.

The Day started in a hotel suite with my beautiful bridesmaids, a lot of hairspray, makeup, champagne drinking and laughter.  Perfect way to calm a nervous bride.

Yes, I am hugging my own bottle of champagne.  I know how to do this right.

His First Look

At this point we loaded up the entire wedding party, plus their significant others, onto a party bus.  Yes.  We did a party bus BEFORE the Ceremony.  It was all about celebrating that day.  No stress, no Bridezilla, no worries.  Just fun.

We took the bus down to the Old Market, Omaha to where the train station used to be located.  A perfect place for the style of pictures we wanted.

After pictures we hung out at a bar for a few pre-ceremony cocktails and time to just relax and let loose before hopping back on the party bus for the 20 minute drive to the ceremony.

Nothing but Shenanigans, friends.

Weekend Happiness and Facebook PDA?!

Happy Sunday, all. I hope everyone is enjoying the ‘extra’ hour today.

The hubby and I were up at 5:45AM.  Seriously….. What the heck?  It is not uncommon for me to be up and going so early, but Clint can sleep FOREVER on the weekends.  Couldn’t believe it when I heard him shuffling down the hallway a little after 6am.   We took advantage of the early hour and went out for breakfast to Jimmy’s Egg.  Um, we may or may not have been the youngest couple at breakfast.

I had the “Almost Healthy Scramble” of egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, turkey sausage over home fries and melted mozzarella cheese on top.  I ate every last bit of it!

I checked us in on FB with a stupid comment about needing lessons on how to sleep in and of course my hubby and friends had to chime in with their witty comments.

Example 1: “Later we’re going to the mall to walk laps”  ~ Clint.

Sorry folks…..Not. Happening.

#iamnotthatold #norwillieverdothat #ever

The rest of the day has been completely unadventurous.  I almost have all my clothes put away from last weekends laundry day.  Almost.  I have two new loads going now and most of those clothes will stay in the hampers for the rest of the week as well.

Not ashamed to admit that one little bit.

I put a few items on eBay.  Seriously, love that site.  I have had the greatest luck re-selling my Harley clothes when I am finished with them.   Harley-Davidson has upped their fashion sense in the women’s department over the years, which is good and bad. Good for my closet selection, bad for my bank account.  However, re-selling HD items on eBay has proved successful!  Of course, I don’t get near what I paid for them, but I normally get a reasonable price, and someone else is getting a new-to-them Harley shirt.  Win-Win!

Now I am all about some TV watching and Pinteresting Dinner ideas.

Before I go, I will tell you something cute my hubby did today.  Now, as a disclaimer, my husband and I are neither one for a lot of PDA in regards to Facebook.   Normally it drives us both nuts when people are all lovey dovey on FB writing gushy stuff back and forth to their spouse or Significant other.   (I mean, seriously, ya’ll are probably sitting next to each other on the couch, just lean over and tell him/her)

With that said, he came out of left field and put this cute little note on FB today:

For those that wondered how a dumb old tree trimmer like myself scored an awesome girl like Jordy, now you know.

Have a great evening everyone.

The Rally Storm

Picking up from yesterday… The Rally Storm.

It never fails.  No matter where we go on vacation, if we are on the bikes, a storm finds us.

On Friday morning of our trip, we decided to rack up a few miles and explore some back roads.  Normally, when HOH decides to go for a cruise, we all go along, but this time my husband chose to stay back at the campground.  He had a rough week leading up to our vacation due to his brother being admitted to the hospital.  His nerves were fried and his body was tired which led to his decision to stick around camp to catch up on some much needed zzz’s.

So, I kissed him goodbye and our group of 14 took off south down highway 83 to Kenosha, WI to visit Uke’s Harley Davidson.

375

It was H.O.T that day and Highway 83 was a line-up of one small town after another.  Not exactly what you want on a 90+ degree day.  When we finally made it to Uke’s Harley Davidson, we hydrated, shopped and stepped outside just in time for Bubba Blackwell! SCORE!  Totally not planned.

He was CRAZY!  Riding wheelies using a full dresser, jumping semis, crazy burnouts!  This guy was entertaining!  His last stunt was to jump over a group of willing ladies.  One of my best friends, Tyree, didn’t hesitate one second.  Love that girl.  She is always up for going out there, getting crazy and having a blast.  Another gal from our group joined in on the fun as well.

That is Tyree sitting up.  Bubba Blackwell jumped a motorcycle over all of these girls.  Are they nuts or what?

314

After Bubba’s show, we got back on the bikes and started our journey back to camp.  We hit a different road going back and were able to see some beautiful countryside.  Came up on a train crossing mid-way, so of course a perfect photo opportunity!

376

Lucky for us, one of our guys had his radio tuned into a local station, otherwise we would have missed the nasty storm memo.  We found a small town with a yummy BBQ joint, parked our bikes in the parking garage, and snuggled in while we waited out the storm.  The name of the community and BBQ place escapes me, so if you readers recognize the place, let me know so I can give props.  The owner was more then welcoming to us and even started happy hour specials early since we were going to be camped out there for several hours.  She rocked.

Watching the Storm Roll In...

317

What else is there to do but take a selfie?

318

Rain + Hail = Boots off cuz we aren’t leaving for a while

320

I called my hubby at one point and could barely hear him over the rain and wind.  At that moment he was in our tent, under the air mattress, holding it all in place.   Oh boy.  Once the storm passed, we loaded up and finished the last leg of our ride.

What we came home to was 4 tents with indoor swimming pools and 1 we had to condemn.

The tent that didn’t make it

321

While we were making our way back, my husband retrieved and hung up everyone’s wet gear on the fence line.

Seriously… I found a good one.

340

Is Kayla not the cutest homeless person you have ever seen?

322

One trip to the store and laundry-mat later, our essentials were dry, the night had fallen, and it was once again time for drinks and shenanigans.

Nothing stops us.
